Silent Spring Institute awarded $1M to study health impacts of PFAS in drinking water

The study is one of seven projects being funded through ATSDR’s new health study on PFAS, involving multiple communities across the United States.  The project will focus on two communities in Eastern Massachusetts—Hyannis and Ayer—where public drinking water supplies have been contaminated by PFAS from the use of firefighting foams at nearby fire training areas. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine is hosting a workshop from September 26-27, 2019 in Washington, DC to identify opportunities to understand, control, and prevent exposure to PFAS. The goal of the workshop is to explore opportunities across sectors to understand human PFAS exposure, and to reduce and prevent PFAS exposure. Testing for Pease Co-Founder Andrea Amico to speak at TedXPortsmouth

Andrea Amico, Co-Founder of Testing for Pease and community partner for PFAS-REACH, will be speaking at TedXPortsmouth on September 13, 2019, in Portsmouth, NH. Andrea is a mom turned nationally recognized clean-water activist. An occupational therapist with a master’s degree from Worcester State college, Andrea, her husband Joe, and three beautiful, amazing children: Sophia, Vinny, and Gia have lived in Portsmouth since 2007.
